Ayr, Ontario

Ayr has a hockey arena and curling rink, a local newspaper, a CIBC bank branch, as well as a variety of small businesses. The Ayr branch of the Region of Waterloo Library is a 7000 square foot building built in 2004 at 137 Stanley Street. The town is home to three elementary schools. Built in 1890, the Ayr Public School was the original school, and in the 1990s, St. Brigid Catholic School and Cedar Creek Public School have been added to service the town's growing population.

The town does not have a secondary school, so students attend Southwood Secondary School or Monsignor Doyle Catholic Secondary School in Cambridge. While the town is growing rapidly, there is still no bus service in Ayr to/from the larger cities.
